The construction of the Greenville Area Mental Health Center was completed in January 2003 on the 3-acre-site of the former Greenville General Hospital. The center is located adjacent to the historic West End District, and the beautifully revitalized downtown area. Like many other cities in the 1960's, Greenville's downtown area was in a state of economic decline, but now has been tranformed into a vibrant community that attracts 5.3 million visitors a year.
